The Blue Mountains and the Sydney Aquarium
Sunday morning early we looked out the hotel window to gray skies and more than a hint of rain.We took off for the train to meet the others there.Jack and May coming in from Waitara and Ruth and Luke fron Wahronga with Lillian; also John and Molly Cook.It was a two hour trip to Katoomba with croissants and hot cross buns en route ( from the bakery ) as well as hot coffee from the station. The Sun shone and we arrived in Katoomba............... more coffee ( pumpkin soup for Jack and I ). A bus took us to the Point where we were able to see the whole vista of the montains and a good view of the Three Sisters. On to Leura and The Candy Shop with the largest most extensive array of old fashioned candies, and only a short time to make our selections before returning to the train for the ride home.
Monday , the four of us went to the Sydney Aquarium and enjoyed the wonderful displays of fish , corals, platypus, penguins, and of course the SHARKS.
In the evening we went down to the Harbour to see the lighted Operta House and had real Italian pizza and a Fosters and etc.
